Tomorrow I leave with our children to go visit family, but my husband will stay behind to continue to minister here. I am praying Ephesians 6:10-17 over him, knowing God will care for us as we are apart.
Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of a godly husband who truly loves You. Please, strengthen him in Your might alone. Each day, help him to consciously be on his guard, recognizing how fully he needs You so that he may firmly stand against the wiles and schemes of the evil one. Thank You that he knows that this battle is not against flesh and blood, but a spiritual one. When he is discouraged, please lift him up in the knowledge that You are mighty and strong, having already won the battle! Help him to stand firm, girding himself with Your truth and the righteousness of Christ. Let his feet be beautiful in their desire to carry the Good News of peace far and wide. Help him to remember to pick up the shield of faith so that he can protect himself with the knowledge of Your greatness and power when the enemy shoots fiery arrows of doubt or worse. Protect his head with the joy of his salvation as he carries the sword of the spirit and yields it only in Your name, claiming Your word and holding fast to it. Thank You that he is not a lone combatant, but that he is filled with Your Spirit to help guide him and that he has a church family to fight alongside. Thank You, Lord, that this battle is already won! In the name of Jesus, amen!
